As a native of Mexico and a new resident of Holland, Ana Ramirez-Saenz repeatedly was told by childhood classmates, “If you’re not Dutch, you’re not much.”
Ramirez-Saenz — the third child of a hardworking single mother who brought her family to the U.S. for access to better opportunities — took these hurtful words and used them as fuel for her lifelong mission to advance social and economic equity for Latin Americans.
